Splat Biocalcium – fluoride-free toothpaste that remineralizes and strengthens enamel
Splat Biocalcium toothpaste contains the mineral hydroxyapatite (HAP) which remineralizes enamel and bioactive calcium which strengthens enamel.
The toothpaste is specifically developed for those who experience sore necks and need to rebuild thin enamel.
In addition, the toothpaste contains the natural enzyme papain from papaya which prevents plaque. The enzymes dissolve proteins in the plaque.
Splat’s own patented “Sp.White System” creates a protective layer on the surface of the teeth that protects against caries.
The mineral hydroxyapatite (HAP) is found naturally in saliva and enamel is 98% composed of it. Splat Biocalcium toothpaste contains bioactive calcium from eggshells. HAP helps to increase the strength and resistance of enamel to acids that cause cavities. Calcium deficiency in the body can result in weakening of tooth tissue. The process is reversible, and our body can repair such damage under the right conditions.
As the enamel becomes thin, the amount and size of open dentinal tubules increases, leading to neural cell stimulation and pain. HAP Acts as a “filling”, sealing microfissures on the surface and thus reducing hypersensitivity.
Taste: mild, fresh mint flavor.
Characteristics:
– Contains calcium lactate, sodium bicarbonate, hydroxyapatite, papain
– Free from aggressive bleaching agents
– Does not contain fluoride
– Not tested on animals
– In recent years, there have been more studies on the effectiveness of hydroxyapatite in repairing enamel and preventing caries, among other things.
Ingredients:
Aqua, Hydrated Silica, Hydrogenated Starch Hydrolysate, PEG-8, Sodium Coco-Sulfate, Cellulose Gum, Flavor, Calcium Lactate, CI 77891, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Methylparaben, Hydroxyapatite, PVP, Sodium Saccharin, Fish Oil, Papain, Limonene.
For those wondering what hydroxyapatite actually is, it is a form of lime. Natural and harmless, in fact our bones are largely made of it. Read more here if you are interested:
Hydroxyapatite is a naturally occurring mineral of biological and agricultural importance. Human and animal bones are composed of hydroxyapatite.
Hydroxyapatite (HA) is a naturally occurring mineral form of calcium apatite that shows good biocompatibility and is an excellent candidate for bone repair and substitution.
