Japanese green tea with roasted brown rice – genmaicha, loose leaf, 50 g
Genmaicha is green sencha tea and roasted brown rice. It’s the kind you sometimes get at sushi restaurants in Sweden.
This tea has a mild flavor. Genmai means “brown rice” in Japanese. It adds a special, slightly toasty flavor.
Green tea is mildly invigorating—this genmaicha is no exception. At Valfrids, we drink it instead of coffee. The stimulating effect is milder. Green tea is also believed to have the ability to make us feel calm and harmonious, as the compound L-theanine keeps us alert yet relaxed*
This tea is best brewed with water that isn’t boiling hot; let it cool slightly—about 80 degrees is just right. Can also be brewed with cold water—it’s delicious when it’s hot!
