Evening primrose oil in a bottle, rich in GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) – 100 ml
Evening primrose oil (Oenothera biennis) is used in aromatherapy and skincare. It is rich in the fatty acid GLA (gamma-linolenic acid), which is great for the skin. GLA can soothe and strengthen skin affected by conditions such as eczema and dryness. It can be used as a general beauty booster for the skin, as it can help make the skin softer and less dry. Evening primrose oil is therefore ideal for dry, damaged, or aging skin—or simply for anyone who cares about their skin.
GLA is also beneficial for the endocrine system, and we typically recommend it for conditions such as PMS and menopausal symptoms. The fatty acid GLA is essential, but the body cannot produce it on its own, so we need to get it from our diet.
The yellow herb known as evening primrose is a plant that, as its name suggests, is at its most beautiful in the evening. It is native to North America, but the plant has spread to large parts of Europe and is also found in Sweden. Oil is pressed from its seeds. It’s called evening primrose oil in English. Another herb rich in GLA is borage, and there are supplements made from it. Flaxseed oil is also rich in GLA, but evening primrose contains the highest amount of GLA. In addition to essential fatty acids, evening primrose oil contains antioxidant tocopherols (vitamin E) and phytosterols.
Can be used both internally and externally! It’s a “dry” oil that doesn’t feel particularly greasy on the skin, making it ideal even for oily and blemish-prone skin. It also works well as a cuticle oil when your cuticles need some extra care. Evening primrose oil can be used on its own or blended with other oils for the body and face.
Contains organic, cold-pressed, and filtered evening primrose oil. Packaged in a dark glass container.
