We switch payment systems to Stripe

From 29/11 2024 we will use Stripe to process payments.


We used to use Payson. We need to warn other e-retailers about Payson and Svea. Something very strange happened. They closed down the account for our webshop without warning. Then they did not respond to either phone or email. It was possible to call their customer service, but the question marks working there could not answer anything, nor connect to anyone responsible. They simply didn’t know why and didn’t know what would happen next. We sent a total of 6 messages to them, over three weeks, but did not receive a single reply. Completely ignored. And still have not received a reply. So our webshop was unable to accept orders for some time.

The worst thing is not that there was a problem with the account, but to be completely ignored. We are building Valfrids, passionate about what we do, working hard.

Furthermore, Payson has continued to charge for the account even though it is closed (a service called Premium). They do not answer questions about this either. We do not know how to stop the fee.

But it doesn’t end there, they have closed down the possibility to transfer money on the Payson account to the bank (it is on this account that customers’ payments end up before we receive them a little later). That function is simply switched off. It’s not a huge amount of money in our account with them, but it’s still fraudulent behavior. Above all, it is reprehensible that they do not answer why they do so or when we can get control of our money.

There is nothing on our part that could be interpreted as irregularities. It seems that Payson simply has serious problems. When you call them, all they say is “we don’t know, we’re too busy right now”, “maybe you’ll get an answer on Friday, maybe not”. One excuse was that people were sick. But it is not a valid excuse. They run a bank, customers rely on their systems to work, for many it is their livelihood. When something like this happens, it seriously damages an online shop.

So we switched to Stripe. In 36 hours we had a new payment system up and running! That’s what you call excellent service.

Through Stripe we now accept card and invoice payments. Invoices are handled by Klarna. If you have any questions or problems with our new payment system, please contact us directly!
