Cancer and Microbes – Lena Forsberg and Ingemar Ljungqvist
“We wrote this book in the mid-1990s, but for various reasons, it was shelved. Now that we’re dusting it off in 2018—more than twenty years later—it turns out, unfortunately, that it’s still just as relevant.”
It’s about Lena, who was diagnosed with breast cancer and began her journey toward recovery, and how she came into contact with Dr. Erik Enby through her then-husband, Ingemar. It’s also about how Ingemar and Erik started a newspaper and about everything else that has happened during this time.
Lena has survived her diagnosis for twenty-seven years. Ingemar describes Erik Enby’s method for diagnosis and treatment. The book also examines how attitudes toward cancer and cancer research have evolved to the present day. The authors express their “hope for major changes.”
Lena Forsberg also appears in the film “Cancer and Microbes,” in which she talks about her recovery from cancer with the help of Swedish oncologist Erik Enby. The film “Cancer and Microbes” (named after the book) is approximately 52 minutes long.
Ingemar Ljungqvist, along with his daughter Anna Böhlmark, is the founder of the magazine Alma Nova. You can watch or purchase the video *Cancer and Microbes* there.
