Lactic acid bacteria are alive and sensitive to oxygen, heat and stomach acid. To ensure they survive all the way to the gut, where they do their work, they are protected by Holistic’s CRYO technology, which preserves the viability of the bacteria throughout their journey. As the powder in the capsule acts as their natural protective shell, the capsule can be opened and the contents mixed into food or drink – without affecting the bacteria.
