Inositol is a naturally occurring compound that is also often classified alongside the B vitamins. It is called vitamin B8, even though (like choline) it does not actually meet the criteria for being classified as a vitamin. Inositol comes in various forms; the most common is myo-inositol. It plays a crucial role in various biological processes in the body, particularly in cellular signaling and metabolic regulation, where it is involved in the synthesis of key molecules such as phospholipids and signaling molecules that regulate cell growth, differentiation, and apoptosis, among other processes. Inositol also acts as a second messenger in the insulin signaling pathway, which plays a crucial role in glucose metabolism and insulin sensitivity. In addition, inositol has been shown to have neuroprotective effects and may play a role in mental health and mood. Inositol is also an important component of cell membranes. It is found in many foods, such as nuts, beans, fruits, and grains.

We also carry a combination product containing both inositol and choline, from G&G.
