Fulgentin – Swedish cleaning and polishing product – a classic

Fulgentin is an effective and eco-friendly cleaning and polishing product used by many professionals in the furniture restoration and antique trade.

Can be used on wood, plastic, metal, and Bakelite. It works on painted, varnished, and oiled surfaces. This product cleans and polishes fine wood furniture, chairs, tables, leather furniture, kitchen cabinet doors, and stainless steel kitchen appliances. It can also be used to polish musical instruments.

Fulgentin is not 100% natural (it contains a small amount of mineral oils), but it is completely free of silicones, abrasives, and acids. It does not contain harsh solvents and has a pleasant scent, so you don’t need to wear protective gloves. Valfrids has chosen to sell Fulgentin because it is so unique and has applications where it is ideal and in demand among customers who restore furniture and care for antique and semi-antique items. The recipe dates back to the 1930s and is a Swedish artisanal product.

Fulgentin both cleans and protects. It leaves no residue on the surface. Since it contains no abrasives, you can use it as often as you like without risking damage to the surface. It can also be used on stone surfaces such as marble, since the product is acid-free. If you use it several times, you can build up a glossy, French-style finish.

We use Fulgentin on lacquered or glossy surfaces where you want to preserve, clean, and maintain the finish. For bare wood surfaces, we do not use Fulgentin; instead, we choose Tandbergista oil or one of the Köndringer products. One example where we personally achieved excellent results with Fulgentin was the lacquered wooden chassis of a 1956 tube radio, where Fulgentin both gently cleaned the surface and easily restored its shine.

How to use Fulgentin:
– Moisten a cloth or rag with Fulgentin.
– Wipe away grease and dirt.
– Polish with a dry cloth or lint-free cloth.
