About Cordyceps from our supplier:
Cordyceps has been mentioned in Chinese writings as far back as the Tang Dynasty, around 620 CE. It did not reach Europe until the 18th century, introduced by a French priest who had visited the Chinese emperor. At the time, the fungus impressed the continent’s medical elite. Since cordyceps grows only on the Tibetan Plateau and in the Himalayas and is very rare in the wild, it has long been difficult to obtain both in its native region and in the West. In recent years, a method has been developed to cultivate cordyceps that is almost as nutritious as the wild variety. The mushroom is then ground into a fine powder.
