It is a pH neutralized vitamin C. It is less acidic than ascorbic acid and therefore gentle on sensitive stomachs. Unlike some other ascorbates, it contains no sodium. Instead, it is pH neutralized using calcium. The calcium is absorbed together with vitamin C.
