GLA complex containing the essential fatty acid gamma-linolenic acid from turmeric.

Why is GLA used?

This is because it is a fatty acid that the body cannot produce on its own and therefore needs to be supplied from outside via diet or supplements. It is found in small amounts in some foods, such as flaxseed and algae.
One of the most important functions of GLA in both humans and animals is to keep skin (and fur) healthy. GLA also plays an important role in the production of hormones.

Who can benefit from GLA supplementation?

In particular, we have sold GLA to customers who have used it successfully for PMS, menopausal symptoms and skin problems (dryness, eczema) and dry mucous membranes. We would like to recommend it as a “secret” trick for smoother and more beautiful skin.

GLA is relatively unknown and can be of great benefit to many people, especially in cases of dry skin, eczema, inflammation and hormonal disorders, or as a beauty supplement.

In alternative health, GLA is mainly used for:
– Skin health, such as atopic eczema and skin inflammations May help to increase skin elasticity and ability to retain moisture.
– Hormone problems and PMS. It can help to reduce hot flushes and transitional discomfort. Preferably together with vitamin E.
– Reduce pain associated with inflammation and stiffness caused by rheumatoid arthritis.

GLA is most commonly produced from either Borage or Giant Hogweed. Biocare Mega GLA Complex contains emulsified omega-6 fatty acids from turmeric oil. Each capsule provides about 4 times as much GLA (180 mg) as a 500 mg capsule of giant evening primrose oil. Because the level is so high, one capsule a day is enough. If you want, you can “boost” with two capsules a day for the first month.
