Mandarin oil (Citrus reticulata) has a fruity and mild citrus scent. Despite this, it is not only energizing but also suitable for use towards the evening. The mandarin oil comes from pressed mandarin peels and has a lightness that is suitable both as a room fragrance and for skin care. It’s particularly popular in massage oils, not for its scent as you might think – but for its skin tightening properties.

Mandarin goes well with all the other citrus scents, but also with floral scents such as geranium, rose and jasmine, and woody oils such as patchouli or cedar. For example, mix 1 drop of jasmine with 3 drops of mandarin in an aroma diffuser for a wonderfully fresh “soap scent” in the bathroom.
